Egoismen och individualismen härskar också i fotbollsvärlden

Jag älskar fotboll. Dock inte allt som vi kan associera idag med sporten! Jag hade tillfälle att se en direktsänd match i Champions league sista kvalomgång mellan mitt barndomslag Sporting Lissabon och Fiorentina. Detta kval leder till gruppspel och betyder ofantligt mycket för de två klubbarna. Avancemang betyder en hel annan omsättning kanske flera år framöver! Man kunde se att spelarna tog det hela på störst allvar. Fiorentina fick ett tidigt mål och i cup sammanhang vet man att det blir mycket svårt och nödvändigt att göra minst två mål för att inte hamna i ett hopplöst underläge. Till slut lyckades Sporting kvittera. Målgöraren Simon Vukcevic…som inte hade gjort något spektakulärt mål borde helt enkelt hämta bollen och snabbt försöka få ett till mål. Istället sprang han omkring på ett vansinnigt sätt och trots att han hade ett gult kort tog han av sig skjortan. Alla vet att det ger varning. Följden blev utvisning och ett oavgjort resultat för Sporting som inte alls motsvarar klubbens intresse. Proffsspelaren Vukcevic illustrerar det samhälle vi har fått där individen ställer sig i centrum på bekostnad av kollektivets intresse! Vad den unge Vukcevic tycks glömma är att för att han ska lyfta sin överdrivna höglön finns det många som lägger ner mycket arbete. Styrelseledamöter, tränaren, lagkompisarna…alla blåsta! Men framförallt de många i publiken, anhängare som idag gör uppoffringar för att gå på matcherna eller på annat sätt bidrar till att bortskämda spelare ska hålla på med sin största hobby och få höga löner för det! Det ska bli mycket intressant att se om Sporting kommer att dela ut ett kännbart straff till Vukcevic eller om man ska släta över det hela som man gör med andra som i samhället skor sig på andra utan att ta hänsyn till kollektivet. För det här är vad som händer ut i bl.a. finansvärlden där enskilda belönar sig själva trots att de gjort dumheter eller åsamkat andra förluster. Den mentalitet som härskar idag måste det bli slut på!

Egoism and individualism ruling also football

I love football. Though not everything that we can today associate with the sport. I had the opportunity to watch a live sent qualifying Champions League match between my childhood team Sporting and Fiorentina. This qualifier leads to group play and is therefore very important to both clubs.To advance means a whole different turnover perhaps for several years coming. I could see the players were conscious of the task. Fiorentina got an early goal which meant that Sporting needed to score and preferably win the match. At last Sporting got the equalizer. The scorer Simon Vukcevic…whose goal was not spectacular in any way. He should have calmly got back the ball and tried to get another. Instead he went berserk running around and also took off his shirt even though he already had a warning. Everyone knows that taking off your shirt leads to warning and so he was sent off . For Sporting it finished with a draw which is not a result the club can be happy with. The professional player Vukcevic illustrates the worst of the society we have where the individual puts himself in front of the entire collective! What the young Vukcevic tends to forget is that for him to collect his exaggerated high salary a lot of people put down lots of work. Board directors, the trainer, the other players..all victims of Mr. Vukcevic lack of professionalism. But above all the public many of whom make today a lot of sacrifices to follow the team of their preference. What they do is contributing to spoiled players who are doing what they like best and get well paid for it. Those supporters deserve more. I am very curious to see what Sporting will do. If they will give Vukcevic a hard penalty or if as in other walks of society they close their eyes to those who for their own benefit damage the collective. This is very much what happens in parts of the financial business world where people in high places get themselves benefits despite errors committed or losses inflicted to others. We need to put an end to this mentality!!
