Acceptable living conditions- a human right!

We have here in Sundsvall and for along time been right ashamed of the living conditions affecting people living in two houses in Nacksta. The landlords ( Wallhomen) seem to have a business idea that has as a goal renting out for normal rents to people depending on social welfare and maximise their profits by not doing any reparations or improvements. This I have been able to see myself when I visited the flats. We have seen this happen in several places in Sweden. The political right seem to think that letting the market "sort itself out" is an alternative. It has been proven by now, that these tenants lack alternative, that is, the market on its own does not work and causes situations that we are ashamed of in a civilized and rich country! Here in Sundsvall the Moderates want to privatise the municipal company, Mitthem, whereby we would lose complete control of the so called market. By buying these houses Mitthem contributes to a less segregated and fairer community!

Vi har här i Sundsvall länge skämts för den boende situation som har drabbat folk i Wallholmens hus i Nacksta. Hyresvärdarna tycks ha haft som affärsidé att hyra ut med marknadshyror, lägenheter, för folk beroende av samhällsstöd. Företaget har maximerat sina vinster genom att inte göra reparationer eller förbättringar. Detta har jag vid besök kunnat konstatera. Fenomenet har man kunnat upptäcka på flera städer runt om i Sverige. Den politiska högern tycks ha uppfattningen om att marknaden kan " sortera sig själv". Det är nu bevisat att de här hyresgästerna saknar ett alternativ, dvs, marknaden ensam funkar inte och skapar situationer som vi skäms för,i ett civiliserat och rikt land! Här i Sundsvall vill Moderaterna privatisera -sälja ut, den allmännyttiga kommunala bolag, Mitthem. Genom detta skulle vi fullständigt förlora all kontroll och inflyttande över bostadsmarknaden. Genom att nu köpa husen har Mitthem bidragit till ett mindre segregerat och rättvisare samhälle!
